Use the Last/Family Name that you use to conduct your legal affairs today.
To ensure that your information can be matched to your educational records, be sure to enter any former names where requested.
No. At the present time, Identification Information, along with other service-specific identification data, is needed to identify you and permit access to the secure online services. Please contact the Help Desk for assistance.
Alberta Student Number (ASN)
Your Alberta Student Number (ASN) allows us to confirm your identity by matching your information to the Alberta school records on file for you. We must confirm your identity before we can provide you with access to your profile.
You can lookup an existing ASN, or request an ASN if you do not already have one. If you’re not sure whether you have an ASN, try looking it up before requesting a new one, as this could cause issues connecting you to your educational transcripts.
The information you entered does not match the records on file at Alberta Education / Alberta Advanced Education. The First name, Last/Family name, and Date of Birth that you enter must match your records.
Enter your personal information exactly as you see it on any document sent to you by Alberta Education or a post-secondary institution, such as:
- Alberta High School Diploma
- Result Statement
- Official Transcript of Achievement or Statement of Marks
You may choose to contact the last school you attended or the Help Desk to confirm your personal information.
To change this information, visit your Alberta.ca Account and update your personal information to match. Then return to ApplyAlberta and try checking your identity again.
If you don’t know your ASN, try looking it up before having ApplyAlberta assign you a new one, as this could cause issues matching you with your educational information.
Yes. If you have confirmed that you don't have an ASN, the ApplyAlberta system will assign one to you.
